What are some of the benefits of using a mobile grooming salon?
Convenience. Instead of planning your entire day around having your pet groomed, we come to you. You no longer have to make two trips to the grooming salon.
Pets that are easily stressed or experience separation anxiety tend to do very well with mobile grooming because they know they are home and feel safe. Your pet will be groomed without the stress of being in a cage or from unfamiliar surroundings.
Undivided attention. Your pet receives our undivided, one-on-one attention without the distraction of other animals being present. Once the grooming is complete, your pet is brought back inside their home.
Why does mobile grooming cost more than a regular grooming salon?
Typically, our mobile grooming prices are around $15-20 more than conventional grooming salon prices. This additional fee actually helps offset our mobile expenses, such as fuel, vehicle maintenance and mobile grooming insurance. Our prices include delivery of our grooming salon services to your doorstep.
Do I have to be home?
Normally no, but if this is your first time using “It’s A Dog’s Life” we do ask that you be there so we can go over your pet’s information sheet and the policy form. This also gives you the opportunity to review the grooming services and ask any questions you may have. Then you choose the one(s) best suited for your pet or we can recommend services, too.
Why is my appointment scheduled within a one to one-and-a-half hour range instead of an exact time?
The mobile aspect of the business requires us to deal with things outside of our control, such as traffic conditions, weather, and even the grooming session prior to yours.
With this in mind, the groomer may be ahead or behind schedule, making it difficult for us to give you an exact time. We know your time is valuable, so we do our very best to stay on time. However, if unforeseen circumstances occur causing a change in our arrival time, we will contact you as soon as possible. We will never rush a grooming session with your pet if we are running behind schedule. Your pet will receive the full attention and high quality service you’ve come to expect from us.
May I inspect the mobile salon or stay with my pet during grooming?
Before your pet’s grooming session, you are more than welcome to come in and take a look around our mobile salon. All grooming tools and surfaces are cleaned and sterilized after each use. We use disinfectants that kill both bacteria and viruses.
However, staying with your pet during the grooming is usually not recommended, as we need your pet’s full cooperation and his/her undivided attention. Most pets maintain their focus a little better during grooming if they aren’t distracted by the presence of their owners.
How often should my pet be groomed?
On average, we recommend dogs be groomed on four, six, or eight-week intervals. Cats are usually good with a groom every eight to ten weeks. It just depends on your breed of pet. We strongly recommend you book your next appointment at the time of your services to ensure we can fit your pet in when they are ready to be groomed again.
Do you groom cats?
Yes. We provide cat grooming services as long as your cat is not a danger to itself or the groomer. We can do baths, nail trims and shave downs.
Do you use special shampoos or conditioners?
We use only the best all-natural products from Nature’s Specialties. We choose the product based specifically on your pet’s current needs and coat condition.
What method of payment is required?
We accept cash, check, debit, or credit card. Payment is due when services are rendered.
